Allow me to introduce myself,

My name is Jay Cox, I teach English here at Central Valley Christian Academy and in starting my fifth year teaching here. I was born in Berrien Springs, MI, but I have lived in Modesto for almost all of my life. I attended Modesto Adventist Academy (now Central Valley Christian Academy) from Kindergarten to my Senior year. After Graduating, I attended Pacific Union College receiving a Bachelor of Arts in British and American Literature. Later, when God led me into the teaching profession I went back to school obtaining my California State Single Subject Teaching Credential in English from California State University Stanislaus and SDA teaching certificate from Pacific Union College and the Pacific Union of Seventh-day Adventists. I am currently working on a Master’s Degree in Literature and Writing from Union Institute and University.

I have a passion for teaching Language Arts in a non-traditional way attempting to make learning both interesting and fun. My favorite thing about teaching is teaching students to think for themselves not just regurgitate what they are taught. I live in Modesto with my wife, Jenni, and our two cats Milo and Otis.
