Winter Ski Program

Winter Quarter is a favorite at our school because skiing is part of the academic experience. For decades, weekly Thursday ski days with the entire student body have been a cherished tradition. Beginning in first grade, students work toward a goal of five quality ski days each season, building skills, confidence, and lifelong memories.

Students and faculty travel together to Dodge Ridge, where each student receives a half day ski lesson and earns academic credit for Physical Education during the quarter. At the end of the season, select high school students are invited by the Athletic Director to join the school ski team and compete against other Tuolumne County schools.

This program is truly unique and inclusive. Every student participates, and many are given the opportunity to learn to ski, sometimes for the first time, and later advance to snowboarding at the highest level offered by the Dodge Ridge Ski School.

Outdoor Activities

Backpacking or camping in the Sierra Mountains is a highlight for our high school students and faculty. Each fall quarter, a destination is selected, with favorites including Twenty Lakes Basin and Twin Lakes. This unique experience allows students and teachers to connect outside the classroom while enjoying hiking, singing, worship, shared meals, fishing, refreshing mountain lakes, and occasionally soaking in nearby hot springs.
