Robotics at
Central Valley Christian Academy
Hands-on STEM learning, teamwork, and real-world problem solving through robotics.
Our Robotics program gives students hands-on experience designing, building, coding, and programming robots while developing teamwork, leadership, and confidence through competitions and outreach.

About Our Team
What is our team like?
Our robotics team thrives on mutual support and shared learning. Students bring energy, creativity, and problem-solving to every build season as they collaborate to design and improve one-of-a-kind robots.

About Our Robot — Marvin
Marvin, our robot, is built on a Tetrix frame with mecanum wheels for movement in all directions. Marvin uses an arm and intake system to collect game elements and place them accurately. A custom 3D-printed box/holder supports the payload, and a linear slide system helps lift and position it for scoring. Marvin is driven using game controllers connected through a Control Hub, and can also run a pre-programmed autonomous mode that follows instructions through the hub once activated.

"Everybody has to be able to participate in a future that they want to live for. That's what technology can do."

Outreach

Our outreach goal is to inspire younger students to get interested in technology and
learn what it can do. Since 2022, we’ve hosted elementary classes to watch robot
demonstrations and learn about robotics. We want students to see that technology is for everyone, not only adults or “smart” people, and that anyone can be involved and have fun with it.
