Spiritual Life
Spiritual life is a meaningful part of our CVCA Sonora experience. Students participate in worship, and community opportunities that support faith, and character.
Mission Trips
International mission is a vital part of ministry at CVCA Sonora. Every other year, Discover Life SDA Church sponsors a team of youth to participate in an international mission trip in partnership with Maranatha Volunteers International.
The school fully supports this experience and recognizes it as meaningful, mission-driven learning beyond the classroom. Students actively serve by helping construct churches, classrooms, or other essential facilities for communities in need, while also leading Bible-based ministries such as Vacation Bible School and Week of Prayer programs.
These trips broaden students’ cultural awareness, develop leadership and confidence, foster compassion and gratitude, and build lasting friendships around the world. Past mission destinations have included the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Kenya. In 2026, students will embark on a life-changing mission journey to India.

WIRED
Students in grades 8–12 enthusiastically participate in a midweek youth group called WIRED, a ministry of Discover Life Seventh-day Adventist Church. WIRED stands for Walking In Righteousness Every Day and reflects its mission to prepare students for a life of devotion and fellowship with Jesus.
Each Wednesday night, youth from multiple churches, along with students who are unchurched, gather for:
-
food
-
fellowship
-
games
-
music
-
Bible study with a devotional message.
Beyond weekly meetings, WIRED students lead worship music at Discover Life, take part in summer rafting and camping trips, and serve through community volunteer projects. WIRED is intentionally designed as a safe, welcoming space where Christian youth can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and walk daily with the King of Kings.
Chapel
Chapel is held every Friday and brings together the entire student body, from Kindergarten through High School. Each grade level takes turns leading worship, including Kindergarten, creating a meaningful, inclusive experience. As a private Christian school, we are blessed with the freedom to study the Bible and worship together. Chapel services strengthen school unity and spirit, develop student leadership, and support spiritual growth. High school students are given the opportunity to mentor younger students, while younger students thrive through that guidance. Chapel feels less like a school assembly and more like a family worship experience.
